Fiber Godmother Final Package Fiber Godmother Final Package

Can you say "squee"?

So, I got my Fiber Godmother's "reveal package" today. I saw the address label and almost did a literal squeal. My Fiber Godmother is Rebecca, and she really pulled one over on me -- emailing me to ask me to ask my FG where she got the bee tape measure (in the first package). I am - apparently - easily fooled, but it was for a good cause!

More pics follow, but left to right: postcard from Knitting Hell, orange Chibi, Unami - Japanese Craft Book (zakka) about tote bags, some adorable Halloween buttons, the most scrumptious yarn, and two bags of sugarfree candy.

Yeah, that's pretty awful. What's worse - the ascot or the vest (except that it doesn't look like a vest, it looks like a tank top)? (or the hair)

My Fiber Godmother (aka Rebecca) wrote that she was sure I would have immediately figured out that she was my Godmother, but I didn't have a clue! Not an inkling!
I want to date this yarn I want to date this yarn

I think I"m in love. Get a load of this! 600 meters of "Ottawa" yarn from Handmaiden. 92% wool, 8% viscose. It is SO soft, and the colors are amazing!

Oh, what shall I make?

If these aren't just the cutest buttons I've ever seen...

I love Halloween. And I love vintage Halloween. I think these buttons will be sewn onto a new totebag, so I can look at them year-round.

I've been wanting a zakka book for months, and lookie! You cannot buy these here (my area, maybe all of Detroit Metro, maybe all of MI), and I've had a tough time with the Amazon.jp site, so I was pretty sure it would be a very long time until I had any of these books. This one is SO cool! It's all tote bags. And you know I loves me some tote bags! All the directions are in Japanese, but there are a ton of illustrations and pictures, so I should be able to figure out the basics. I can't wait!!!

Thank you, Rebecca!

I really & truly did. I'm right now plotting which bag I'm going to make first.

I was so excited to see it! The stores around here never get anything new or cool*. I kind of have 2 now. The very same day, I got an email from a friend who went looking for the one thing I asked her for... an orange or green Chibi. No way did I think I'd get one from my FG.

*Although I was amazed to see these "cool" stitch markers at Wal-mart (where we went under protest)... from Red Heart. That threw me.

Red Heart has some thing cool ... at Wally-hell? I'm astounded. It's the end of an era or a total fluke. :)

I don't know how cool others would find them, but I'd been seeing these cool colored translucent plastic rings in more than one "knitting tools" layout, but never any source info. Imagine my surprise when I saw them at Wal-mart, with a Red Heart logo on the package. Just "craft rings", in a bunch of sizes, not marketed as stitch markers.
